site (without spree) using Rails 3.2
  • She’s been working with Ruby for a couple weeks now but needs to
    expedite
the process to meet a deadline.
-She’s reading Rails Tutorial 3.2 (by mike hartl) & Agile Web

4th edition — but needs to add an expert to the mix to help with
    learning
ruby and speed up learning core/basic recipes

Background of Pupil:

experience using C++ (but is humble enough to know that this doesn’t
    really
    mean much …LOL)

  • 7 to 10 sessions over a three week period
  • Time frame is flexible (morning, early evening or afternoon is fine)
  • Each session will be ~ 90 minutes

Ruby on Rails Coverage

  • The student has identified specific areas she’d like to cover in each
session (this will give the ROCKSTAR a little bit of time to prepare for
    each session)
  • Example topics include

    • Building a simple store (which will allow consumers to select a
product with unique variants i.e., specific color and or size)
    • Messaging (email notifiers)
    • Stripe gateway set-up etc.,
    • Identification of the most useful gems, in-depth tutorial on MVC &
      using Active Record effectively

Pay

  • She will pay $50 bucks an hour and will commit to 90 minute sessions
    (~$75 bucks per session)
  • Interested in at least 7 to 10 sessions over a three week period
  • You will compensated at the end of each session in CASH, thru Paypal
    or
    Dwolla

Meet locations:

  • Open to meeting in San Francisco, Oakland or Berkeley (as long as it
    is
    fairly close to BART/public transportation)

*If this is something YOU might be interested in doing OR if you know
someone that’s qualified and would be interested in providing a little
yoda-like training to a newbie for pay *

Sincere Regards,
Kisha Richardson
