What is the use of :var in ruby

Hi,

I am new to Ruby, I would like to know about :var in ruby. I saw this
question in one site but nobody provide any response for this. Please
clear my doubt as early as possible.

Thanks

There is a nice article about ruby symbols (that what those constructs
are called):

It may be a bit hard to start with but there is a nice collection of
articles that explain symbols at the very end. Perhaps you should read
those first.
