We’re looking for experienced and enthusiastic Ruby-on-Rails developers
to join our our small team of software engineers based in Palma,
Majorca.
Responsibilities
Successful candidates will be working on two projects for clients in New
York and London which involve the design, develop and maintenance of
large-scale consumer web-based applications.
Requirements
Smart. A very good university degree in computer science or a similar
field is good, but equally don’t be put off if you don’t possess this.
Just prove to us how much of a self-taught genius you are (use your
geniuses to work out how to do this…)
Significant experience in Ruby on Rails (at least 1-3 years experience
building real-world applications in Ruby on Rails or similar web
frameworks (Django, Grails, phpcake)
Solid understanding of object-oriented software development, MVC and
REST.
Sound knowledge of Internet technologies and – protocols (eg HTML, REST,
JSON, CSS, AJAX and JS).
Experience with databases (MySQL, Postgres).
Understanding of NoSQL technologies/concepts.
Previous work experience in a start-up / agile environment a big plus.
Proactive, goal-oriented approach, self-contained and tenacious working
style
Javascript knowledge with at least one framework (e.g. jQuery)
Strong HTML5 and CSS knowledge
Fluent English
