Web Systems Architect for Web Startup
Root Orange LLC is a well-financed, DC-area based enterprise that
provides solutions to connect domain name owners with businesses in a
way that will significantly disrupt the domain name industry. We are
recruiting a highly-skilled Web Systems Architect that will take on
significant responsibility by designing and leading development of the
systems framework for this exciting venture.
As an early member of the start-up team, your responsibilities will
evolve as the company grows. Initially you will design the back-end
system, begin development and build a team around you to accelerate
development and complement your skills. As the company grows, you will
lead the entire development team and technical staff as the company
designs new products and scales operations.
Responsibilities:
* Early-stage programming and system development
* Aiding in product vision development with rest of the management
team
* Alignment of tech development strategy and planning with company’s
business model
* Hiring and managing a technology development team (5+ FTEs)
* Overseeing web application development and delivery
* Developing and managing a systems architecture that is scalable,
adaptable and synchronized with ever changing business needs
* Development of policies, risk management, standards, and
guidelines that direct the selection, development, implementation and
use of IT within the company
Skills and Experience Requirements:
* System design, beginning at the ground level
* Open-source server administration
* Database architecture for scalable web applications
* Web product development
* Graduate of a top computer science program
* 5+ years experience in web product development and/or server
administration
Candidates should have high energy, great interpersonal and
communication skills, and be able to work collaboratively in an
entrepreneurial environment.
Compensation is based on experience and includes meaningful equity
participation.
