VM Ware tools install (RoR Dev box)

I created a VM using VMWare workstation 5.5.4.

The VM was built using the latest release of Ubuntu 7.10, and i
installed
LAMP during the install process. The problem i’m running into is
installing
the VM Ware tools. Any suggestions?

Yep, I suggest posting this to a vmware forum. I fail to see the rails
relevance here?
