USRP2+Ethernet+GNU Radio-Daughterboard

Hello everybody!

It’s my first message here and since I’m a newbie with this subject, I
would
like to ask for some suggestions and confirm if it is possible to do
what I
propose.

We’ve got some USRP2 kits, but the main problem is that we don’t have
any
daughterboard yet. Since the Gigabit port works as it comes from
factory,
would I be able to build a packet sniffer with GNU Radio, access the
fpga
and configure it then finally put it to work with a computer which will
be
simulating a gigabit switch?

Or is there (or even possible) any other application involving the USRP2
+
GNU Radio without any daughterboard?

Thanks!

Bernardo

I’m pretty sure this would take some very deep FPGA and host code
hackery and is unlikely to be something that you could easily
accomplish. It’s basically re-engineering the Verilog code of the USRP2
from scratch.

Not much.

Thanks!
