Hi,
I was able to successfully upgrade my ruby version to 1.8.4
After that i issued this:
sudo gem install rails --include-dependencies
The output of which is this:
Attempting local installation of ‘rails’
Local gem file not found: rails*.gem
Attempting remote installation of ‘rails’
Updating Gem source index for: http://gems.rubyforge.org
Successfully installed rails-1.1.2
Successfully installed rake-0.7.1
Successfully installed activesupport-1.3.1
Successfully installed activerecord-1.14.2
Successfully installed actionpack-1.12.1
Successfully installed actionmailer-1.2.1
Successfully installed actionwebservice-1.1.2

I get the above exception ???
I issue this:
rails --version
Rails 1.1.2
I can see that I was able to migrate over to rails 1.1.2, but I am
confused about the error I saw during installation of rails. Any clues
as to why the error might happen?
I just did a:
sudo apt-get install rdoc irb
and ran:
sudo gem install rails --include-dependencies
It gave the following output:
Attempting local installation of ‘rails’
Local gem file not found: rails*.gem
Attempting remote installation of ‘rails’
Successfully installed rails-1.1.2
I guess alls well now.
