Update the content of a column in a BD table

hello every body , ( i am new in ROR )

i have a form with a password field to update the password of the user
admin .

please how can i update the column with the content of the field ?

ch1=params[:pass1]

What have you already tried? Have you read or tried some tutorials or
guides?
