I’m working with openSUSE 11.4 (126.96.36.199-1.2) KDE desktop and latest

example fails. It never happened to me with openSUSE 11.1 and gnuradio 3.1.3
I’m also running OS11.4.
OS11.4 KDE by default uses pulseaudio as audio-system which might cause
some trouble there :), especially if you haven’t installed ALSA or OSS.
If you change to ALSA direct, you’ll have the problem that GNURadio
wants the audio hardware exclusively for itself, which collides with KDE
notification and (if you use it) speech-dispatcher.
My temporary solution is that I use ALSA and have GNURadio use another
output of my (furtunately 5.1) soundcard which is not used by anything
