Unable to locate an audio module

Hi all

I’m working with openSUSE 11.4 (2.6.37.1-1.2) KDE desktop and latest
stable
gnuradio version ./configure make and make install show me no errors and
modules
that I need are configured however dial_tone.py example fails. It never
happened
to me with openSUSE 11.1 and gnuradio 3.1.3

What can I do?

I’m also running OS11.4.
OS11.4 KDE by default uses pulseaudio as audio-system which might cause
some trouble there :), especially if you haven’t installed ALSA or OSS.
If you change to ALSA direct, you’ll have the problem that GNURadio
wants the audio hardware exclusively for itself, which collides with KDE
notification and (if you use it) speech-dispatcher.
My temporary solution is that I use ALSA and have GNURadio use another
output of my (furtunately 5.1) soundcard which is not used by anything
else.

Me, I just dedicate a sound card to Gnu Radio. They’re fairly cheap
these days. USB sound cards (48KHz) can be had for
about $10.00 on eBay.
