Uhd blocks missing

Hello,

I am using ubuntu 13.10 and I installed gnuradio using the ‘apt-get
install
gnuradio’ command as described here

http://gnuradio.org/redmine/projects/gnuradio/wiki/InstallingGR

I did not experience any errors or issues with the above install. Now
it’s
not clear to me how I should proceed to get the gr-uhd blocks to appear
in
gnuradio-companion so I can use my USRP N210. I’ve installed the uhd
software as described here

http://code.ettus.com/redmine/ettus/projects/uhd/wiki/UHD_Linux

after installing gnuradio (order of operations issue?) but I still don’t
have access to usrp_sink or usrp_source from gnuradio-companion. What
steps
should I take?

Thanks,
Rich

The version of Gnu Radio you’ll have from the official repos is going to
be horribly out of date, which is part of the reason that Ettus offers
a combined installation package for GR+UHD:

http://ettus-apps.sourcerepo.com/redmine/ettus/projects/uhd/wiki/GNURadio_Linux

So, I would do a:

sudo apt-get purge gnuradio gnuradio* uhd uhd*

And then follow the instructions given above from the Ettus site, OR:

Or use PyBombs or build-gnuradio to install from source:
