Typo 4 and Dreamhost

I am trying to install Typo 4 here on Dreamhost. I found this tutorial:
http://blog.aidenbordner.com/articles/2006/07/24/getting-typo-4-0-0-running-on-dreamhostpon
how to set up Typo on Dreamhost and after spending 4 or 5 hours on it
this weekend, I’ve given up. I’ll spell out what problems I’m running
into
and if you can help me get Typo 4 running on Dreamhost you’ll have my
eternal gratitude.

So, I followed all of the instructions in the tutorial and everything
went
fine. I did have to do the “gsub” fix as described in the comments by
“Chris
H,” but the migration went fine. I set the subdomain up just like I have
for
several other rails projects that I have running on Dreamhost. However,
when
I navigate to my blog I get an error stating, “Typo failed to start
properly.”

There is no information in logs/production.log, nor is there a fastcgi
crash
log. In the apache logs, I get this:

[Mon Sep 11 08:15:50 2006] [error] [client 65.160.56.2] FastCGI: comm
with
(dynamic) server “/home/tdonaghe/typo.icuo.us/typo/public/dispatch.fcgi”
aborted: (first read) idle timeout (120 sec)

[Mon Sep 11 08:15:50 2006] [error] [client 65.160.56.2] FastCGI:
incomplete
headers (0 bytes) received from server
“/home/tdonaghe/typo.icuo.us/typo/public/dispatch.fcgi”

So, it looks to me like something isn’t starting properly. I just don’t
know
enough about how Rails or Apache or FastCGI works to know how to begin
debugging this issue. Can someone out there please give me some tips to
try
or some other general clues?
Thanks!!

For whatever it’s worth, the blog works just fine when I run it in
development more (in a WEBrick running up at Dreamhost). Does that help
any
to diagnose the problem?
