The best way to setup php apps

Hi folks.

I want to know which are the best way to configure PHP apps, I´m using
php-fastcgi, and spawn-fcgi (from lighttpd), in the last dates, I hear
about the php-fm, but how can setup it.?

Which are the primary advantages using one or other setup from my
current config. ?

I have setup wordpress and mediawiki sites.

download appropriate php-fpm patch
apply appropriate patch to the right php version
configure /etc/php-fpm.conf (if that’s the default for your OS)
