System("command") is not working and returns false

Hi,

On my system (Win 7 64-bit), system(“command”) is not working and
always returns false. Any ideas what could be the problem and how can
I fix it?

Are you using 1.5.3? This sounds like a duplicate of
http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/JRUBY-5110, which I fixed.

You can try the nightly snapshot http://ci.jruby.org/snapshots/ or wait
for 1.5.4, which I suspect will happen soon-ish.

If you’re running a version other than 1.5.3, then please open a ticket
with as much information as reasonable.

Yeah… I just reverted back to 1.5.1 and now everything’s working
smoothly. This bug wasted about 8 hours of my work time! :smiley:
