SVN import & add--way to exclude directories?

Is there way on import or add to exclude directories? (Obvious candidate
being log or tmp dirs.) I’m imagining something like this:

$ svn import mytree file:///usr/local/svn/newrepos/some/project
–exclude /tmp --exclude /log \

I have scoured “Version Control with Subversion” without luck but maybe
I don’t understand some terminology somewhere…

Check out steps 4 & 5, that should get you going. I don’t think SVN
allows you to exclude on import. You have to checkout, remove the
directories and then set the svn:ignore property on the directories.

Thank you. I have reluctantly concluded that the exclude on import
feature is not available. It just seems weird to import all those
useless directories, then delete and exclude them. but at least i know
now.
