SSL for PayPal

I have this for PayPal IPN:

request.params.each_pair {|key, value| @query = @query + ‘&’ + key + ‘=’

  • value.first if key != ‘register/pay_pal_ipn.html/pay_pal_ipn’ }
    http = Net::HTTP.new(‘www.paypal.com’, 443)
    http.use_ssl = true
    response = http.post(‘/cgi-bin/webscr’, @query)

Will this work when the app server doesn’t have SSL?

I wonder because I get this Notice from the LSWS “peer certificate won’t
be verified in this SSL session”.
