Ruby/Rails Conference

Hey guys,

I was able to convince my employer to pay for me to attend either
RailsConf or RubyCon or Rails Edge (even though we’re a .Net shop with
no plans to deploy Rails anytime soon). Have any of you attended any
of them and can would you suggest attending one?

Thx.

P.S.: Didn’t post this in either Rails or Ruby-lang’s mailing list
because I didn’t want to get like 1000000000000 responses our of which
9999999999999 are people fighting each other.

I attended RailsConf and RubyConf last year, and they were both great
learning experiences. I’m going to RailsEdge next week, and I know I
won’t be let down. Do everything you can to convince your employer
to pay for you to go.

I attended all three. It really depends on what you’re looking to get
out of the conference. If you want to improve your skills with Rails
and Ruby, I’d suggest Rails Edge especially if someone is footing the
bill. I like all three for different reasons and will attend both
RailsConf 2007 and RubyConf 2007 on my own dime.

Cheers,

Bryan and Marty,

Thanks a lot for your input. As I said, I already convinced my
employer to send me to either of those. I’d love to attend Rails Edge
with Dave T. & Co. but it’s too close–datewise. I’ll probably
head to Oregon to RailsConf as it sounds pretty interesting as well.
