Title: Ruby on Rails Web Application Developer

Duration: 6+ months

Summary/Description of Position
The Web Application Developer is responsible for developing web
applications to support the materials management, order planning and
execution team within the Hillsboro manufacturing facility.
Primarily, applications are developed in the Ruby on Rails framework,
and connect to our MySQL/ databases.
Primary Duties
l Work with business staff and management team to plan and
design web applications
l Develop web applications, and maintain existing applications
l Formulate and execute on plans to enhance existing
applications
l Manage deployment and implementation of web applications
l Secondary duties include: Creation and management of
recurring business intelligence reports
Required Knowledge and Skills
l Technical expertise in web application development
l 4+ years Ruby on Rails development experience
l Solid foundation in object oriented programming
l Experienced with web application development patterns - HTML
and CSS coding experience
l Javascript development experience preferred; AJAX experience
l ORACLE or MYSQL database experience
l BRIO experience
l UNIX or LINUX experience
l Excellent verbal and written communication skills
l Positive, results oriented attitude, high productivity
l Ability to effectively address and resolve ambiguity
l Ability to prioritize, multi-task and work independently
l Self-starter capable of learning “on-the-fly”.
l Proficiency with desktop productivity tools
(e.g.spreadsheets, text documents)
Typical years of Relevant Experience: 5+ years professional
experience designing and developing software applications, with at
least 4 years experience with web application development
Minimum Level of Education: Bachelor’s Degree
Field of Study: Technical, Computer Science or Other Related
