Ruby-on-Rails developer for a social shopping website (freelance long term contract)

At Lookbook, we love fashion, shopping and trends. We believe that
life should be lived fully and that all of us should strive to look
our best, without spending too much time doing so. We are creating a
platform to simplify your dressing-up process without removing the fun
parts of it. You can create looks by simply dragging and dropping
products, and we will share the revenues when your looks get sold. You
can also discuss styles, discover latest trends, rate, comment and buy
looks. It is a social shopping experience with a twist!

Lookbook is a very young business established this summer, over the
course of which we have undertaken extensive market research, led
qualitative / quantitative customer discovery interviews, drafted a
business plan and developed a basic prototype. We are currently
testing low-fidelity prototype with users and working on the design
and user experience.

We are looking for a star Ruby on Rails developer who can help us in
product development and scalability. You must be a good communicator
and love great discussions, and of course Ruby.

We have strong experience in design and fashion industry and have
inherent commitment and drive to make things happen. Our design
director has made many startups successful and worked on Yahoo!
websites with a daily footprint of 100M+ users. Our business head has
a consulting background and successfully launched two businesses in
the past. We are completely self-funded, and we got a business model
that works. This financial freedom allows us to innovate faster and
better than anyone else. We have developed (and validated) a secret
sauce for Lookbook that distinguishes us from our competitors. It’s an
opportunity that you would regret if missed.

We need the full package i.e. YOU. If you are a self-starter and have
a can-do attitude, work at a (very) fast pace without a master on
head, then you should read further.

You will get an opportunity to become the backbone of an interesting
company with great business model. Most importantly, you’ll be working
with a team of professionals who absolutely love what they do. We are
AGILE and we do not scare people with ASAP requests.

We’re a very relaxed company based in London (UK), and most of us work
around timelines that work best for our needs (family, personal,
rejuvenating). You can work from anywhere, but we need you to be
available to work and on Skype, Mon to Fri.

We are looking for two Ruby developers for several months of work.

If you are interested, please reply back to this listing with your
resume and (if any) links to websites you’ve worked on. We are good
web developers, too, so we can tell who’s better than us when we see
your work.
