Ruby 1.9.2 binary distribution for linux?

hello all -

i was able to build 1.9.1 without any trouble, but i cannot successfully
build 1.9.2, oddly enough.

i have looked into rvm, but first i need git, and the git distribution
pages have been down for some time.

so, i am now concerned my quest to abandon perl/php in favor of ruby is
going nowhere.

is it possible to get a binary distribution of 1.9.2 without using sudo,
rpm, yum… but rather just using configure/make ?

also, anybody know why 1.8.6 and 1.9.2 runs rails, but not 1.9.1? just
curious…

thank you! (the voice of a desperate man)

Im confused why you think git is unobtainable.
What os are you running?

kernel.org has problems at the moment.

I guess the guys and gals at kernel.org are rebuilding the
infrastructure after their servers got pwned, which means that git and
its sources (as well as other services kernel.org provides, like
mirrors for Linux distros and their repos) aren’t available.

A method of solution is perfect if we can forsee from the start,
and even prove, that following that method we shall attain our aim.

one has to wonder why anybody would want to hack Kernel-org. that does
not seem very nice.

oddly enough, i tried to install 1.9.3 out of desperation, and i got a
LOT farther with that one.

i still want to get a binary-git, but having 1.9.3 will keep me occupied
for the time being.

thanks!
