ReWrite rule help

Hi I am trying to write following rewrite url
request: www.example.com/abc/xyz?a=1&b=2
It should get response from following
urlwww.example.com:8080/xyz?a=1&b=2
can some one help me to do this.

You probably want Module ngx_http_proxy_module
