Reminder: The 1st Bay Area OpenResty Meetup Tomorrow Evening

Hi folks

We’re going to have the first Bay Area OpenResty meetup tomorrow
evening, in CloudFlare’s office, as originally planned about one month
ago.

When:

5:30pm ~ 6:30pm, 9 March 2016

Where:

101 Townsend St
San Francisco CA

Fee:

Free.

Meetup website:

http://www.meetup.com/Bay-Area-OpenResty-Meetup/events/228411221/

If you like to come, please do RSVP on the web page above so that we
can do proper preparation.

Anyone who has good stories, tips, and case studies around OpenResty,
NGINX, and/or Lua/LuaJIT in a Web environment is welcome to present a
lightening talk (3 ~ 5 min). Presentation proposals are still open.
Just drop me a line privately today. We hope that this is a place for
OpenResty users and developers to find each other in person. Several
OpenResty/NGINX developers of the CloudFlare Edge team will join us as
well.

We’ll have a screen, a microphone, and some food and beverage. Thanks
CloudFlare for kindly sponsoring this event.

Until now, we have the following presentations scheduled:

  1. Marco Palladino, the CTO of Mashape, will talk about how Kong
leverages OpenResty to provide API and Microservice gateway
    functionalities to upstream services.

  2. Dragos Dascalita Haut of Adobe will present their work around
    OpenResty at Adobe.

  3. As the creator of OpenResty, I will talk briefly about all the new
features that have landed or landing to OpenResty, like semaphore API,
new downstream SSL features, generic downstream TCP support,
balancer_by_lua*, a package management toolchain, and more.

And finally, we’ll have a Q&A session in the end.

OpenResty is a full-fledged web platform by integrating the standard
Nginx core, LuaJIT, many carefully written Lua libraries, lots of high
quality 3rd-party Nginx modules, and most of their external
dependencies. It is designed to help developers easily build scalable
web applications, web services, and dynamic web gateways. You can find
more about OpenResty on its official web site: https://openresty.org/

See you tomorrow!

Best regards,
