It seems like you’re not even reading this thread. It wasn’t mental

And it was mostly a joke… I was poking fun at you for posting
content that seemed really silly. (A big rant about lawsuits followed
by weird ideas about making games and then questions about C++
randomly)

You know, despite this broken thread, this is a real community mailing
list with valuable technical information in it. Maybe we can get back
to that?

Weird game ideas? Most of the people I’v talked to like my game ideas.
The law suits thing was a joke. And besides, who cares who said it? I
didn’t understand it. And I wanna make a game in C++, so im gunna ask
dam questions about C++. So it wasn’t random, it was just unfamilar to
people with no lives.

No, it’s not that C++ is unfamiliar here, it’s just off topic, and
you’re making it extremely difficult for people to respect you, like
you, or want to help you.

Try comp.lang.cpp.for.lolcats

kthxbye

I’m autistic, so I may not have the whole social pattern down. However,
in
my experience, if I’m asking people to do me a favor, I generally find
that
insulting them doesn’t make them more likely to help me. (And, thanks
to
my trial-and-error approach to social skills, that is the voice of
experience
speaking.)

Maybe Joe should try lolcode. Someone will eventually implement a
MMORPG as
a keyword.

Sky Pirates are cool, no denying. Just a bit weird topically for the
list.

The way you present those game ideas makes them seem a bit “weird”.
That
doesn’t necessarily mean they’re bad – just “weird”. I tend to think
I’m a little weird from certain perspectives, but I don’t think that
makes me a worse person.

I’m sure the person you address when you say “you” cares whether what
you’re saying that person did was actually done by someone else. Would
you care if I said it was you that said “im in ur comp”? If so, you
might want to reflect on that when you consider the question “Who cares
who said it?”

While writing games in C++ might seem like the most important thing in
the world to you (or not – whatever), you should realize that you’re
talking about writing games in C++ in a Ruby discussion. It’s way
the hell off-topic. While a certain amount of off-topic-ness is
certainly tolerable here, and we do occasionally talk about using other
languages, we don’t generally try to hijack discussions so we can get
advice on how to write games in a completely different language.

Just a quick thanks for this little comment.

Thanks to some followup posts which explained it a bit better… I was
off and Googling and had quite a laugh this afternoon.

I hate to break it to you, but I was on-topic most of the time. I made a
little joke, and yall went crazy off-topic. I made a joke about how we
should sue Runescape for using the word demon. Then I made a little
comment about how I wanted to make a game. I just gave a short
description because I know alot of people who might be interested in
that sort of thing. Then someone goes off and rants about what I was
saying, calls my ideas weird, and I don’t like being called weird. I am
creative. There is a huge difference. If you cut off peoples toes after
killing them, then nail all the toes to a signpost, you are weird. Some
people might say sadistic, thats just a stronger use of weird. And
usually has something to do with evil. And weird usually implies mental
instability. Creative is usually a good thing. For one, it means there
are numerous jobs I could have. Game designer, advertisment manager,
lawyer (im also good at lying). So, just for fun, I decided to use my
powers for good. Before, I just made pranks and sold things to my
friends. Things that they used on people we usually didn’t like. So two
birds with one stone, eh? Well anyway, I decided to make my own game,
not just tell my coder friend them and wait for him to make them.
Problem is, he only knows Java. So I come in here, just throwing
gasoline into the Hate-fueled fire of religous predjudice, and I made a
joke about lawsuits. Including a side-comment about the game I want to
make becoming very popular if Runescape went out of business, then
included a short description, and whatshisname gos crazy and says my
ideas are weird.and I don’t like being called weird. I am creative.
