Two further points:
- Are all these filed in a single directory?
- How new is the ubuntu? You’re probably using the open source NTFS-g
emulation, which is itself based on the FUSE filedystem. That ntfs-g
component did have a bug that resulted in the operation unsupported
error. It was fixed in a later version
