you are probably right.
I remember long time ago writing this piece of code and never
got to polish it…

In any case, are you interested in implementing the demod as well?
I have generic code for that, that makes use of the VA in gr-trellis
and the cpm decomposition idea of B. Rimoldi.
It is all inside gr-trellis/src/examples.
It only works for coherent transmission though…
so there is some work to be done.

I’ll have a look at it; a decent CPM demod is still missing from GNU
Radio.
