Has anybody got Rails running on one of the new Intel based Macs? I’d
love to get a MacBook Pro but if I can’t run Rails and MySQL then
there’s no real point.

I’ve been running Rails with MySQL on an Intel iMac for the last few
weeks. Works like a charm, setup isn’t any more of hassle than on a
PowerPC machine.
One thing I did was download and compile everything myself I wasn’t sure
if any of the ‘prefab’ rails installers were sufficient.
Probably took me an evening to get my app up and running.

Running Edge on my MacBook Pro with Ruby 1.8.4 and MySQL, RMagick,
etc. all just fine. Hums right along.

Darwin has been running on Intels for over four years. Also, Ruby has
been part of the base Mac OS X since 10.3 at least. I would be very
surprised if Rails failed to work on the Intel-based Macs.
