Project Management Software

This is not a code question but it is something that developers deal
with every single day.

What is your recommended project management software for rails
projects? comercial or open source

Thanks,

I’m using redmine

Can you clarify your question a little? Do you mean internal
(developer-team-centered) or CRM (customer relationship)? Or something
that’s a blend, like Basecamp?

Are you looking for issue tracking, documentation, what, specifically?

Walter

Thanks Walter,

I think we are looking for something like Basecamp(without having used
it)

PM would use it to assign tasks, track development time, project
timelines,
documents(maybe share this with clients), while developers can use it in
a
day to day to know what their priorities are, track time spent etc.

Redmine is working good for internal development but we are looking for
something more robust from the CRM side of things and ideally we will
like
to use a single system.

Just wondering what other people are doing out there to get some ideas
flowing.

Thank you!

I recommend you try it out. The free version doesn’t include time
tracking or https, but it does have enough of everything else to give
you a flavor. I have been using it since it launched, and like many on
this list, seeing it in action was enough of a kick in the head for me
to try out Rails 1.very low number.

Team Task Manager works well for us. It is intuitive and all the data
is stored on your own PC instead of online. Inexpensive, and a free
trial is available on their website -

Our company is using redmine. It’s best tool.
