Big Fun in the Valley of the Sun

The Phoenix Ruby U. Group will have their May meeting next week.

When: Monday, May 8, 6:15 pm to ~8:30pm
Where: Cyclone Commerce

See the wiki for a map and directions and stuff:

  • Unit testing
  • Fun with Selenium
  • Whatever people come up with

Afterward, join us at the Havana Cafe on Bell & 64th (see wiki again for

(If you can’t make the meeting, consider just coming later and joining
us at the restaurant. If you can, give me a call so I can reserve a big
enough table. See the wiki for my number.)

Desert Code Camp

Saturday, May 6, Desert Code Camp is happening in Tempe, AZ

There seems to be a strong .Net slant, but there are three mighty Ruby
presentations to keep the universe in balance:

9:00 AM - What makes Ruby different (David K.)

11:00 AM - Introduction to Ruby (James B.)

2:00 PM - Ruby on Rails (Josh K.)

Josh is also giving a talk on Introduction to Agile/Extreme Programming
at 10:00 AM

If you’re in the vicinity of the Sonoran Desert, please drop by. It’s
too hot to be outdoors now anyway.

There is some sort of registration process for attending sessions; I
don’t know how strict this is, but please look over the Web site and
sign up for what you think you’ll want to see.

They’ll also be much milling about; the hallway track is often the best
part of a good conference.

of knowledge.”
