Partial text search using ferret search

Hi,

I have gone through the ferret search engine which is full-text search.
Is there any way to make partial text search using ferret search engine
or is there any other engine for partial text search

can you clearly state what capability you were looking for in ferret?
Is it faceted browsing, wher e you combine SQL logic with search
capabilities (stemming, stopwords, tokenizer/analyzer)?
