I’m currently looking for some WYSIWIG embeddable (javascript) editor,
like tinymce, fckeditor and the likes.

What kind of experiences have you made with them in your projects?

Also - most of these seem geared to generating html - are there any,
where
markup can be (partially) user-defined, e.g. to use a specific
Wiki-Markup
like MediaCloth instead of html?

We recently switched to fckeditor, mostly because it can be loaded via
ajax which tinymce couldn’t. Or at least not that I’d found anyway.
There’s a plugin for fckeditor which makes it easy to do as well which
is
nice.
