(OT) Javascript onclick handler and browser context menus

All,

I am noticing that any of my tags which have “onclick” event
handlers attached to them (via the inline HTML attributes usually) will
not show the browser’s default context menu when they are right-clicked
on, in both FF and IE.

Is this expected? If so, why?

Is there any way to get around this issue?

Found it! Shockingly, some custom script I am loading is getting the
way.
