Online payment System

Hello all,

In my project I have need to implement ACTIVE MERCHANT plugin for Online
payment System.

Actually i am new , so i do not know where to
start? I am guessing i have to open up a merchant account? Is this
the right term? Or Is it an “online gateway payment system”?

So far, I’ve come across the following: Braintree, PaySimple,
TrustCommerce, BeanStream, Shopify, Authorize.net

What should I look for when considering one of the above services?

Any additional information will be appreciated.

Please give me suitable link. If there will be any example then it will
be
better to understand.
