New to Ruby, can someone run down the various plugins for the framework?

I was recall reading that Ruby on rails has allot of options, can
someone
run down some of the popular framework plugins?

I’m not really sure what that person meant, but I am guessing they are
related to: ORM’s, view template engines?

I really want an idea of what’s out there, in a summarized fashion if
possible!
