New to RoR - installing my first app?

I have rails configured on my LAMP web host using Cpanel 11.

To get into it I wish to install a simple app, I would like to try out
Colorplan (http://github.com/caffo/colorplan) but the read me just
flies over my head right now.

Is there a tutorial showing step by step how to go from my current
position to using a RoR application? So far I can only find tutorials
on installing Rails - and that has been done for me! How do I actually
now make use of it on my server?

I am experienced with PHP if that helps…
