Hi all,
I was setting one of our N210 we got last week, while flushing the
firmware
the procedure (normaly it takes one second) stopped this way:
USRP-N2XX found.
Flash size: 4194304
Sector size: 65536
Begin firmware write: this should take about 1 second…
Erasing 31744 bytes at 3145728
nothing for over few minutes, I did a CTRL-C and this time worked:
USRP-N2XX found.
Flash size: 4194304
Sector size: 65536
Begin firmware write: this should take about 1 second…
Erasing 31744 bytes at 3145728
Writing image
Verifying data
Read back 16383 bytes
Success.
Time elapsed: 1.200541 seconds
for the fpga part it didn’t work and it stops (I waited like 10 mins)
this way:
USRP-N2XX found.
Flash size: 4194304
Sector size: 65536
Begin FPGA write: this should take about 1 minute…
Erasing 1572864 bytes at 1572864
After around 10 mins I did a CTRL-C repeated again (as i did with the
firmware
but it didn’t work).
The device now doesn’t reboot (all leds are off) and performing the
recovery
procedure (keeping pressed the S2 while power cycling) doesn’t lead to
anything,
all led are still off.
Any suggestion? Shall I send it back ?
Regards
Gaetano

Strange. Were you (by some chance) streaming samples from the device
while re-programming? I ask because this has always been the cause of
this particular problem.

Well, if the device is in an un-bootable condition, you can always
recover it with a JTAG programmer (if you have one).

I’m pretty sure we had this happen without streaming, though in one
instance streaming was involved. My hunch was a packet loss at just the
wrong time, which streaming might make more likely.

No, it was a fresh installed system so no way something was streaming
anything.

Unfortunately I don’t have it.
