Make Ruby lighter than it is?

Hi,
I’m looking for a lightweight Ruby version… I’ve already tried to
cross-compile it from sources but I had to face some problems.
Does anyone know how I can make Ruby lighter ? Or even where I can find
a lightweight version of Ruby ?

Definitely look at 1.8 not 1.9.

ruby 1.8 compiles as a package for OpenWrt, which runs on home routers
with 4MB of flash and 16MB of RAM. How much lighter do you need?

Otherwise, there’s talk of a future lite ruby-like language (google
‘ruby rite’) but in the mean time, maybe you’d be better served by
something like lua.
