Maintenance for Ruby 1.8.5 series to be officially dropped soon

Hello all, I’m a person in charge of 1.8.5 maintenance.

As knu released new 1.8.7 release, we are planning to drop official
support for 1.8.5, mainly due to human resource limitations.
But don’t be hurry, not now. We have a few more patches to backport to
it. Once they are all done I’ll make another release of 1.8.5 and
that’ll be the last release. Security fixes, if any, will be provided
until that point.

I think I’ve backported those patches. Can you try 1.8.5 branch? The
next release should be the last one for 1.8.5.
