Mailer_behavior or Extensions

Hi everyone,

I need tell-a-friend (send email) functionality on a site. I’m trying
to figure
out if I should work on getting the Mailer_bahavior to work with 0.5.2
on my
site or look into using Extensions in Mental branch.

Thoughts?

I also have a couple of forms that I’ll need to process as well.
Originally, I
was thinking Behaviors, but now I’m wondering if “Extensions” is the
future?

I have not seen a response to this thread. Did you use the mental branch
and the mailer_behavior?

I have ported the mailer behavior to the mental branch as an extension,
with some small added functionality. I will be releasing it shortly.
It is used extensively on www.kckcc.edu.

I’ll just keep working on other stuff for the site I’m working on. I
assume that you modified the search behavior as well, since there is a
search box.

Was there a post/reference someplace on converting behaviors to
extensions? I
thought there was, but I can’t find it now. Please advise.

In addition, other than searching through mailing list and reading
source of
current available extensions, is there some documentation started on the
wiki?
or someplace else?

Yes, actually I used an older version, not the one based on
acts_as_ferret, and stripped out the live-preview functionality. It’s
not especially accurate, but it works “for now”.
