Looking for solid code base to learn from

I’ve worked through most of the Agile book and while the depot
application is nice, I could use more of a code base.

Does anyone have suggestions for a nice open source project with solid
code? Right now I’m looking at Radiant but am a bit concerned that
I’m going to pick up bad practices since it’s alpha.

Thanks.

There is a forum project called Beast that is said to be well written
and short (<1000 lines).
The blogging package Mephisto is also well regarded. There is also
Radiant the CMS system but that may be bigger than you want.

I would start with Beast as it is short and work up from there.

Caboose also has a sample app that includes user authentication,
timezone support and a few other things. It’s meant to be a framework
app. If that makes sense.
