Linux editor ? aka textmate on linux

Ready various posts about speed of linux .vs windows.

I cannot afford a mac so a fast pc with Ubuntu might be possible.

What do you use for RoR editor ?

Aptana ?? aka RadRails ( eclipse ).

What is textmate look alike on linux ??
