You might find study companions on a Facebook group:
https://www.facebook.com/groups/rubyandrails/

Also be sure to look for Ruby or Rails meetups locally if you are in
major
metro area.

Thanks!

Hi Daniel,

I am beginner to Rails.

Yes… I am also reading this book. But one thing that I don’t understand
that, why you didn’t consider any database like SqLLit3( default one).
Any particular reason behind it?

I am missing that part only.

i hav to learn this ruby on rails . how do i start with. i don’t hav any
books . can anyone tell me how can i get an ebook for it ? plz help me

I don’t find the link to DL your book for free. Where is it ?

I guess that is because the post quoted is from November last year and
the free offer expired at the end of that month (as stated on the page
linked).

railstutorial.org is free to use online however.

Did you look at the links in the post you quoted? One of them is
railstutorial.org. This is a good tutorial that is free to use
online, or you can buy the ebook.

I subscribed, still unsure on how to get the free download…

I’m looking forward to reading it this week! Really appreciate you
posting
this!

The free download offer was for an advance edition of the book. The free
offer expired in November 2013 (!).

The book has been updated for Rails 4.1 and it is available (with a
number
of other tutorials) from the RailsApps project:

only as part of a monthly subscription.

I’m sorry that it’s not obvious that the download offer was for a
limited
duration in November 2013. The title of the email announcement “free
today”
refers to the day the email announcement was sent to this Google Group.
In
retrospect, I should have said “free on November 27, 2013.” Sorry if
anyone
is disappointed.
