[JOBS] Volunteer Scheduling Application

The purpose of this project is to provide automated support for the
work of the Volunteer Services Department at San Francisco Food Bank.
As the volume of work for this department increases, automating
appropriate parts of their work becomes more necessary. In FY 04/05
approximately 8,000 volunteers provided 60,000 hours of service. By
FY 08/09, more than 15,000 volunteers provided 100,000 hours.

There exist, in the market, various applications for scheduling and
managing volunteers. Existing applications are unsatisfactory because
of our unique requirements. Most volunteer scheduling applications
support one volunteer making one reservation on the schedule. We need
a system that supports our work with organizations that want to
reserve capacity to bring groups of volunteers, while also supporting
scheduling of individual volunteers and collecting information about
the individuals within groups.

We are looking for vendors interested in working with us to build this
web-enabled database. Our project budget is approximately $30,000.
Please contact by email for further specifications.

And since you announced this number, I would bet all your incoming
bids will be just under it.

For example I’d like to bid $29,999.95. Did I win?

No, because I can do the job for only $29,998.

To the OP: Seriously, I suspect Quorum ( http://quorum2.sf.net ), which
I wrote, might be a suitable base for this project on. Check it out;
I’ll be happy to discuss customization with you off-list.
