Pingsta is seeking experienced RoR Engineers to join our development
team. The position can be full-time, part-time or freelance, please
specify when applying. Local candidates can use our Redwood City, CA
offices . The successful candidates will report directly to the CTO
and help build the next-generation system behind Pingsta’s products,
create cutting-edge collaborative tools, straddle information
retrieval algorithms with fearless drive and creativity and build
highly scalable web applications.
Responsibilities:
- Create web applications primarily using Ruby on Rails
- Implement AJAX web interfaces using HTML/CSS and JavaScript
- Rapidly fix bugs and solve problems
- Refactor and improve maintainability of the codebase
- Incorporate cross-functional ideas and innovations
- Conduct design and code review
Requirements:
- B.S. Computer Science or related field
- Expert knowledge developing and debugging Ruby on Rails applications
- Working knowledge of JavaScript UI libraries (Prototype,
Scriptaculous, jQuery) - Expertise in PHP, AJAX, JavaScript, HTML/CSS
- Excellent working knowledge of relational databases, preferably
MySQL or PostgreSQL - A strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive
- Great interpersonal skills along with excellent written and verbal
communication - Agile multitasker that copes well in interrupt-driven environments
