Ruby on Rails Developer
Job Description:
Join a team of engineers, designing and building new user interfaces
for a flagship product using next generation technology and state-of-
the-art research. The company is a two year old UK based start-up
located in Oxford.
Responsibilities:
Create user interface components in Ruby on Rails and unleash them on
the general public.
Build gracefully degrading cross-browser JavaScript to enhance site
usability without compromising accessibility.
Organise complicated and voluminous data into something the average
Joe has a hope in hell of understanding.
Design clean and clear pages that fit the aesthetic, and then work
with designers to iterate on your initial work.
Requirements:
An interest in design and usability.
Demonstrated experience in web development with product/project
reference.
Expert level familiarity with web technologies, including CSS, XHTML
and Javascript.
Experience with an MVC framework (pref. Ruby on Rails).
Extras:
• Linux sysadmin experience.
• Design skills/experience.
• SEO experience.
• Write copy and set tone. Help give the site a voice.
Education:
Any relevant 2:1 degree: we are looking for passion and flair.
