Dragonfly is looking for a Web/Exhibit Developer

Project Dragonfly reaches millions of people each year through social
media, public exhibits, and graduate programs in Africa, Asia,
Australia, and the Americas.

Responsibilities:

  • Author and manage a new generation of web-based and touch screen-
    based tools for civic engagement worldwide being developed for major
    public exhibits, home and school computers, and mobile platforms.
  • Serve as lead programmer and architect for an exhibit/web/mobile
    system (Ruby on Rails) that supports an evolving library of public
    engagement interactives.
  • Develop social networking tools, cross-institution monitoring,
    communication and other applications that advance project goals and
    support collaborative development.
  • Oversee hardware and software to ensure on-time delivery and
    maintenance of reliable systems for national partners.
  • Supervise staff, students, and consultants on these large, national
    projects.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or related field; strong
web application development experience in LAMP and/or RoR
environments; logical/physical database development and design
(MySQL); HTML/CSS; experience with Adobe CS3/CS4/CS5 suite and
familiarity with Flash Professional, Photoshop, Illustrator,
Dreamweaver, Flex/Flash Builder; familiarity with Macintosh, PC and
Linux environments; commitment to working in a team environment;
outstanding oral/written communication and critical problem-solving
skills; excellent management and organizational skills; attention to
detail; willingness to develop new skills.
