Position: Web Services Engineer Ruby/Javascript *

Position: Right to Hire (Full time starting January 1 2014)

Senior software engineer with at least 5 years of development experience
using technologies including Ruby on Rails and Javascript. Would be nice
to
have NoSQL (MongoDB). This is a right to hire with a conversion of no
sooner than Jan 1st 2014.

Will be responsible for creating highly scalable Web Services to support
the firms portfolio internationally known digital products. Web services
will be built using Ruby, Rails, Javascript, MongoDB, and MySQL
technologies.

You will need to have the following:

  • Solid Ruby and Rails
  • Javascript
  • NoSQL or MySQL preferred
  • Experience building Web Services
  • Team Player as cultural fit is equally as important as the
    technical
    fit

Day to day will include:

Develop new Web Services as directed by Time Inc. brand product owners
Maintain and enhance the companys portfolio of Web Services
Report development status to project manager

I am Aashish a ‘Ruby on Rails Developer’. I am having similar skills(a
Ruby on Rails developer, heroku as deployment server, a Github user,
RDBMS / NoSQL as databases) as follows:

  5+ years of Ruby on Rails development experience
  Experience developing web-based consumer-facing applications using

open-source technologies.
Hands-on experience developing with Ruby on Rails, jQuery, HTML5,
CSS3, Ajax, bootstrap framework.
Experience in deploying Rails application on cloud platforms such
as heroku, EngineYard.
Experience in working with third party API’s such as Braintree,
Paypal, Amazon.
Experience in version control such as SVN, Git.
Experience with
RDBMS : PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle
NoSQL : MongoDB, Redis
Ability to work on the full web stack: from UI/UX design /
front-end development to server side development.
Ability to deliver cross-browser compatibility
Experience in an Agile software development environment.
