  • Web development, esp. Ruby on Rails, but keep an eye for what’s
    going on, Sinatra, Seaside, Wicket, Django all have good things about
    them
  • TDD/BDD - nuff said, you believe this to be the most effective way
    to develop
  • Refactoring - without quality, code is nothing
  • Pair Programming - quality, sharing, synergy are important to you
  • Exploring new tech - you know that somewhere someone’s writing the
    new hotness and you’d like to be in on it

Skills you have

  • Ruby - this is what we code most of our stuff in
  • Javascript and Javascript frameworks - coz there’s always code in
    the browser
  • TDD/BDD - this is how we work
  • Rspec, Cucumber - these are our main automated testing frameworks
  • Distributed version control
  • *nix savvy - we develop on OSX, deploy to linux
  • Verbal/written communication skills - everyone asks for these, we’ll
    be lemmings on this one

Bonus points

  • scaled a web application - the bigger the better
  • security - extra points here
  • an eye for design/UX
  • active github account
