Is there QA on Rails gem releases?

The ActionMailer/ActionPack gem release is still screwed up.

Does someone test the gem releases to ensure that they work?

Just an idea.

What trouble are you having? It’s working for me.

Try:
gem install rubyzip

Tim.

rubyzip (0.9.1)
rubyzip is a ruby module for reading and writing zip files

I’ve had rubyzip for months now.

Why does this fix the problem?

Same problem. Do:
gem install rails

to overcome the problem.

And…now…gem update magically works.

Hmmm :).

I guess. I kind of was assuming that the gem distribution would be an
atomic (from the users perspective) operation.

Is that an unrealistic expectation?

they just updated to 1.1.5, so maybe you got half of the new release?

gem is consistently flaky for me. I get everything from type
mismatch errors to nil object found when expecting something real.
In almost all cases I can just try again, and eventually things will
work.
