Hi!
Does anyone have a HOWTO on how to compile ruby-gnome2 against msvcrt?
I need to compile the CVS version for Win32 so that I can use the new
“wizard” dialogs.
Thanks.

Besides, I think that it is the main problem that prevents people from
helping Masao with doing releases…
(since doing a release requires to provide windows binaries…)
I only have Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Express Edition (available for
free - as in beer), but it does feature the whole compiler suite, so
it should be possible to compile ruby-gnome2 with it.

I mean… Doing a release is time consuming and boring. You have to
prepare the packages, do the announcements, update the software
repositories (freshmeat, gnomefiles…) and provide pre-compiled
binaries for Windows.
I don’t think many people on this list except Masao know how to compile
RG2 for Windows. This is not extremely difficult but still requires some
specific knowledge and many people are not Windows users here.
I think that is a bottleneck for the project since if Masao does not
have time, the project can not be released even if the source code is
ready. Hence the idea of a release manager (who knows how to prepare the
binaries)

If someone acquired the knowledge of compiling RG2 on Windows, we could
distinguish the maintainer and release manager’s roles…
