Internship opportunity to work with USRP2 (CSIRO, Australia)

Internship opportunities in GNU software-defined radio application
development (Stipend AU$600 to AU$1,200 per week)

CSIRO’s Autonomous System lab is a premiere research centre in pervasive
computing and field robotics. AS lab is seeking a couple of talented
individuals to join us for a 6-month internship. Based in Brisbane,
Australia, you will join our research team and contribute significantly
to the technology development in the field of GNU software defined
radios. You will gain valuable experience through frequent, direct
interaction with CSIRO researchers and engineers.

The primary responsibility of this internship is to develop algorithms
and protocols for radio time-of-flight ranging and localisation. The
candidates will use cutting edge hardware to implement standardised
wireless protocols on the GNU platform and extend these protocols to
enable localisation. Ideal candidates should be able to demonstrate
their experience with code examples on GNU radios and be self-motivated,
creative, and be comfortable working in a fast-paced work environment.

Required Skills and Experience

  • skilled coder in C and Python
  • experience with FPGA programming and GNU software defined radio
    platforms
  • familiarity with building embedded software (e.g., tinyos, contiki,
etc.) and wireless networking protocols (WiFi, 802.15.4).
