Images (not again!)

Hi all,
This isn’t your normal post about images! Sorry if this is a dupe, but
I
thought that this might be useful to anyone who is currently using 0.5.
I’ve written a tutorial on how to use images on your site (for now).

BTW, I know there’s been a lot of talk about how to handle assets and
images, but has anyone considered creating a page behavior that “falls
through” to the filesystem? It may be useful for other things,
basically
any kind of static content that you might want to serve, so you could
have
“/static-content” be a page with the fall through behavior and it would
serve up “/path/to/radiant/public/static-content”.

Hi Paul,

This gives a 404, the URL you’re referring to doesn’t seem to exist?

Well one way of handling images would be to “port” some of the typo
plugins to Radiant.
Typo is able to fetch images from flickr or from the local filesystem.

I’m actually working on a Rails application (www.drkroom.com) myself
which allows the user to upload images
and manipulate them (a-la Flickr / iPhoto) and wrote a Typo plugin to
fetch them. I was actually planning on porting it to Radiant as well.

If there’s interest in such a plugin (with the use of lightbox:
http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox/) I’m happy to port
it over, just give us a shout.

Regards,
Tom.
